BOROUGH DO ENOUGH TO COLLECT THE POINTS

Borough's game with their ground sharers, Greenhouse London, never reached great heights and neither defence will not feel satisfied with the early first half goals they gifted to their opponents with Borough's 13th minute lead lasting only 4 minutes.    Borough did improve somewhat after the interval but only regained the lead on the hour mark thanks to a "wild slash" clearance attempt  by a defender which sailed into his own net.  Even after Greenhouse were reduced to ten men through a double yellow carding nervy Borough never really made their advantage tell but Darrell Cox finally made the game safe with a clinical low cross shot five minutes from time.

NORMAL SERVICE RESUMED

BOROUGH showed no hangover from the disappointing outcome of last Saturdays game and quickly returned to winning wasyw with a comprehensive 5-1 win over visting Basildon United.   Even the dismissal which many thought rather harsh of Dean Fenton after 20 minutes or so failed to upset their domination.  Already 2-1 up thanks to a 3rd minute Walid Matata penalty and a fine Darrell Cox cross shot a few minutes later they went on to add three more without reply through Rakim Richards and  Cox who completed his hat-trick from the penalty spot with the only goal of the second half.

FINALLY,  ITS OVER

Boroughs victorious run of League games ended at the 22nd hurdle when FC Romania - also unbeaten in the League this season - left Coles Park having won by Sorin Buciu's close range 21st minute effort.   Borough wasted some golden opportunities late on to draw level or even win after having the better of the second half.

21st WIN SECURED BY DAN ARISTIDOU SUPER SHOW

Borough recorded their 21st consecutiive League win to which Dan Aristidou made a massive contribution;  he fired over a perfectly flighted corner for Rakim Richards to power home his header early in the game  and after Ilford had equalised in the first half and Darrell Cox had restored Boroughs lead early in the second  he made the points virtually safe with two goals of his own.   The first being a spectacular effort from way out on the right hand touchline and about 10 yards inside the Ilford half when he spotted the 'keeper off his line and lofted the ball into the empty net.  Ilford grabbed a late consolation to leave Borough 4-2 winners.

20 NOT OUT AND BACK TO THE SUMMIT

Walid Matata added another 2 goals (8 minutes and a 45th minute penalty)  to bring his seasons tally to 10 and keep his place as the Leagues leading scorer .     Rakim Richard (15 minutes), Anthony McDonald (59) and Darrell Cox (79) also found the net as Borough’s 5-0 win over visiting Newham put them back on top of the League, unbeaten and 3 points ahead of also unbeaten FC Romania who would need to win by a 5 goal margin next Saturday when Borough are without a game to knock Borough off their perch.

And the free entry experiment was clearly a success as the attendance reached the rarely achieved level of 100
