A slow start by the home side enabled Borough to take an early lead through Manny Yeboah and although Sporting upped their game as the half wore on there was no further score before the interval but both teams had gone close on several occasions. Play continued to be end to end but once a corner was headed home midway through the half by J'ardell Stirling Borough got well on top and two late goals ftom Ebenezer Addo and Derek Asamoah gave us a comfortable 4-0 win which lifted us out of the drop zone to 18th. After the horror show at Gorleston two weeks ago our loyal supporters deserved such a treat and were probably in the majority as the attendance was only 115. The Bell End Choir were in fine voice from start to finish and ran through almost their whole repertoire. Aki, Tom and all the usual suspects including Scott, Georgios, Matty, Tosin, Manny and, most frequently Derek who seemed to be in constant action all over the pitch, pulling the strings, and well deseved to be he who put the "icing on the cake" with his accurate drive for the final goal were enthusiastically serenaded (Sambu missed out because of his suspension) and the Free Season Tickts, W3s and the bus stop in Tottenham were not forgotten. Next up will be a visit from the League leaders, Bury Town, on Tuesday (12th Nov) a sterner test and if we can take a point or three from them that will be evidence that our season has at last "taken off".......(UPDATE - in the event we got nothing despite scoring within a few minutes of the start of both halves and being 3-1 up but the League leaders dominated the game thereafter, quickly drew level and once again we lost to a goal scored just a few minutes from time)........the UNDER 23s collected a point away to Kulture and remain 5th in the table fourteen points behind the leaders but with three games in hand on them.........on Sunday the WOMEN were also hoping to complete a "double" when they made the 100+ mile journey to play Dussindale & Hellesden, the Norfolk team who visited Coles Park on the opening day of the season and left after losing 8-1, but unfortunately went down by the odd goal in seven.........but the Under 18s won their away game at Ickenham on Monday by 4-2. ==================================================== 2nd July SEASON TICKETS granting entry to all our remaining 19 Isthmian League HOME matches are again on offer at a cost of £30.
