CUP SUCCESSES FOR BOROUGH TEAMS
Nov 8, 2009, 7:25 pm

Use "FIXTURES & RESULTS" option for Reports on both matches.

BOROUGH WOMEN won the fourth match of their WFA Cup campaign and put themselves into tomorrows 2nd Round Proper draw with a fine 3-1 win over visitors Barking from the same League and Division.        An even game throughout was effectively swung in Borough's favour by an outstanding demonstration of speed, persistence, ball control and clinical finishing by hat-trick heroine Aishah Bolaji;   but it needed a gritty team performance with all Borough's players putting in a determined 90 minute shift and everyone responded wholeheartedly.   Their reward is a 2nd Round visit to LEWES of the South East Combination, the League which Borough would enter if promoted.

BOROUGH UNDER 16s also played their counterparts from Barking in the second round of the London County Cup and after takng a 3-0 lead through their own hat-trick hero,  Terrell Hunter,  defended stoutly to run out 3-2 winners.    Their reward will be a trip to South East London to meet the winners of the tie between Elms Junior FC and Orpington Rovers.

BOROUGH WOMEN STILL CHASING CUP GLORY
Oct 25, 2009, 10:54 pm

BOROUGH WOMEN finally made it into Competition Proper of the FA Womens Cup sponsored by E.ON after a nervous Third Qualifying Round encounter with visiting Eastbourne Town who led at half time and continued to do so until the 79th minute when a fine individual goal by Marianne Sheena followed by a close range blast from Aisha Bolaji five minutes later secured the vital reversal of fortunes

Borough go into tomorrows draw for the First Round Proper (on 8th November) as one of 19 survivors from the 161 hopefuls who began their campaigns in the Qualifying competition

UNDER 18s ON COURSE FOR DIVISIONAL TITLE
Oct 22, 2009, 10:05 pm

A vital away win on the ground of the Divisional leaders Harpenden Town put the Under 18s in the controlling seat of the Nemean Division of the Southern Counties Floodlit Youth League this evening

They remain a popint behind Town but have 2 games in hand and, most importantly, have dropped less points than any other team in the Division.

First half goals by Joshua Barzey, Yasser Tazi-Mousif and Finbarr Robins secured their 3-0 victory in a hard fought match.

MIDWEEK WIN SENDS BOROUGH WOMEN TO TOP OF TABLE
Oct 21, 2009, 11:19 pm

Wednesday evenings midweek 3-0 home win over Stevenage Borough sent Haringey Borough Women to the top of the Premier Division of the Eastern Region Womens League.

4 teams have 15 points but Haringey's goal difference is the best of the group -the others  being Hethersett Athletic (who have played one game more) Barking and Braintree Town.

Unfortunately Borough's tenancy of the top spot is likely to be short lived for they are engaged in the final qualifying round of the WFA Cup on Sunday while second placed Hethersett Athletic will surely overcome struggling and currently point-less Taverham in their League fixture.

However, Borough will have an early opportunity to claw it back the following week when they will be visiting Hethersett in the League.

A BOROUGH TEAM ON TOP OF THEIR LEAGUE
Oct 5, 2009, 10:29 pm

Their 2-0 win at Kentish Town this evening has moved Borough's UNDER 18s to the top of the Nemean Division of the Southern Counties Floodlit Youth League.   They now have 10 points to Harpenden Town's 8 with both teams having played 4 games.

As they have no game until 22nd October they will probably be knocked off their perch by then but will obviously have a game in hand.    The 22nd October game is the vital away fixture at second placed Harpenden Town.

TWO VERY RARE EVENTS !!
Sep 20, 2009, 10:19 pm

Four of Borough's eight teams were in action this weekend and a 100% success record was recorded.

Pride of place must go to the WOMEN who came back from three down against second in the table visitors Chelmsford City to win 5-3 (full report can be found under FIXTURES & RESULTS).  It is a long time since any Borough team came from 3 goals behind to win.

The RESERVES (see previous article) won 6-4 while the UNDER 17s won their Cheshunt Youth League game with MINCHENDON by 3-2 and the UNDER 16s returned 2-1 winners from their Eastern Junior Alliance trip to Brentford FC Community Sports Trust.

RESRVES OPEN WITH A WIN & A GOAL FEAST
Sep 19, 2009, 8:48 pm

The Reserves opened their League Season by bagging all three points in a high scoring game with Edmonton Golazo Reserves.     Only one goal was scored in the first half as Mark O'Connell fired Borough ahead but two early second half goals by their opponents put Borough behind.    The introduction of substitute Jason Bayford quickly changed the game as he fired a hat trick and when Mark Summers added a fifth it seemed all over.   But the game was disrupted, first by the dismissal of an opposing player quickly followed by an injury to their 'keeper.    Borough lost concentration and an own goal followed by a penalty pulled them back to 5-4 but with the opposition then reduced to 9 players by a further injury Borough finished in command and Bayford added his fourth to make the final score 6-4
