Game NotesWith 7 matches to play in 14 days squad rotation is the only solution and for this game, the second of the sequence, the selection included two players making their Club debuts and two others with only four appearances between them. So it was not surprising that it did not immediately kick smoothly into gear. The hungry “Tigers”, desperate for points in their battle to avoid relegation, sank their fangs in the disorganised Borough ranks right from the off and Borough ‘keeper Erbil Bozkurt had a busy evening. The bar saved Borough twice in the first fifteen minutes during which the Tigers also sent a free header from a corner well over the bar and squandered several other good opportunities with wayward finishing. But it was no surprise when Jabir Laraba’s close range finish provided the lead they deserved some ten minutes before the interval. Borough had failed to provide home ‘keeper Adam Atour with any serious test throughout the first half and when their sorties did look promising they were repeatedly ended by correct off-side decisions. The introduction of Dewayne Clarke at the interval brought some much needed creativity to the Borough ranks and the second half was a more evenly contested affair although Borough created few real openings and Tigers continued to look the more likely scorers. Emmanuel Ojo did get the ball in the net but again from an offside position. Andreas Loizou made a desperate goal line clearance, injuring himself in collision with a post to keep the margin within reach but with fifteen minutes to go Borough gave the ball away in midfield once too often and their defence was pulled all over the place allowing Wadah Ahmidi to make the game safe with an accurate low finish which gave Bozkurt no chance. As time ran out Borough did apply a spell of pressure and began to look more dangerous finally forcing Atour into a fine sprawling save from a close range effort and deep into stoppage time a hard low cross shot from Oleg Semjonovs flashed inches wide of the far post, but it was all too little, too late.
