Game Notes | With so many dual registered players on the field the match had something of the atmosphere of an in house trial but it was New Salamis who had the stronger squad and deservedly came out on top. Several of the New Salamis team will most likely be in the Borough line-up for Saturdays FA Cup tie. The 1-0 half time lead for New Salamis was secured by a dipping cross shot from some distance which nestled in the top corner having been unleashed by one of the Borough regulars Andreas Loizou who has never produced anything similar for us ! (but in fairness we use him as a defender). In attack Borough had produced little threat and were saved from going two down by an off-side flag although Ibrahim Kanteh was similarly thwarted when he netted for Borough. The second half started in a more even manner with Borough’s introduction of Fumiya Sano introducing some additional spark to their earlier endeavours but after a long range equaliser it was New Salamis who clinched the match with two quick goals, the first by Dougie Morton – a player who like several of his team mates has made many appearances in Borough’s colours in the past – and then Richard Georgiou.
Borough Squad included:- Joe Taylor, Andras Molnar, Cedic Lakole, Lewis Laws,
Ben Butler, Stephen Obeng, Lawrence Constanti,
John Powles, Richard Worrell, Ibrahim Kanteh, Fumiya Sano, Calum Vaughan
Borough players in New Salamis colours included:-
