Game NotesHaringey suffered their first league defeat of the season after a disjointed game that had looked to be heading for a 0-0 draw, but saw Leverstock snatch all the points with one of the few clear chances of the match.

Borough had the best of the first half after pressuring their opponents high up the pitch and playing some good possession football, but the inability to carve out clear cut chances meant they didn't make anything of their control of the half.

In fact the best of the chances came as a result of Leverstock giving the ball away under pressure. In the fifth minute Roland Namquita was gifted the ball in the area, but after taking the ball past one defender shot wide of the near post.

For most of the rest of the half both teams had to resort to long range efforts with Lewis Laws and Richard Worrell failing to hit the target for Haringey, while only a full stretch save by Austin Byfield kept a Leverstock effort out of the top left corner on the half hour mark.

In the second half Haringey failed to keep the pressure on Leverstock and were put on the back foot as they were unable to keep hold of possession.

Ten minutes into the half Leverstock's Adam Hallissey was given way too much space in the area but opted for a long shot that only narrowly flew over the bar.

Borough still made the occasional chance on the break and on the hour mark they found themselves three against three on the attack but John Powles' cross couldn't find Namquita or Worrell.

Leverstock eventually took the lead in the 75th minute when Leverstock delivered a high cross into the area and Byfield's punch failed to clear the ball. Ross Miller was fastest to react and knocked the ball into the empty net.

Haringey pushed for an equaliser towards the end of the game and Paul Yiannakas looked to have created himself a chance when he got to the ball ahead of Tom Coulton in the Leverstock goal, but good pressure by a defender stopped him getting his second go at the ball on target.

Late pressure from Borough eventually rewarded them with a good chance but Namquita gave the Leverstock keeper an easy save with last kick of the match.
