| Game Notes | Borough lost their unbeaten pre-season record in a very even game with Ryman Division One North, Ilford. In a game of 4 penalties, 2 to each team and all scored, Ilford came out on top by the odd goal in seven. It was 33 minutes before Ilford opened the scoring and they doubled their lead from the spot in the final minute of the first half. Darrell Cox reduced the arrears with a header in the first minute of the second half and levelled from the spot a few minutes later. Ilford re-took the lead with a powerful run down the right ending with a fine cross which was easily converted at the far post. But the lead was short lived for the third penalty of the game enabled Kyriacos Portou to drive Borough level with a confident strike. But in the dying minutes a challenge by Borough ‘keeper Erbil Bozkurt was deemed worthy of yet another penalty and he had no chance as the winner was blasted home.
