Game NotesA fine all round team effort from which it would be difficult to select an outstanding contributor brought its reward when Luke Bryan drove home the only goal of the match after 56 minutes. An end to end first half produced few clear cut openings but new Haringey ‘keeper Ryohei Tamai produced the most vital save of the match to keep the game goalless seconds before the interval as he beat away a fierce close range blast which was the home sides best effort of the match. Rakim Richards headed Haringey’s best chance of the half over the bar and home ‘keeper Sam Beagle had never been seriously tested. The second half continued in the same vein with no shortage of commitment by either side and Haringey grabbed the initiative early on when Darrell Cox threaded the ball into the path of Bryan who confidently drove the ball home past the advancing Beagle from a central position some 10 yards out. End to end play continued throughout the half with possession shared equally and Haringey’s best chance of making the game safe arrived when Miguel Martins cut in from the right and was brought down in the “D” but Cox fired the free kick well over the top. Hillingdon naturally stepped up the pressure in the closing stages, winning several corners, but the Haringey defence stood up well and never looked to be in serious trouble with Tamai dealing confidently with everything which came his way .
