| Game Notes | Quite an even game despite the scoreline with Borough having made two careless second half gifts to increase the visitors tally. John Douglas opened the scoring for the visitors after only four minutes with a fine divimg header and Lee Benmore spurned the chance to double the lead as he fired a penalty well over the bar. When Borough were awarded a penalty Rakim Richards drove it hard and low into the corner to the 'keepers right. Another accurate header from
Douglas restord Enfield's lead shortly before the interval. Five minutes into the second half a penalty needlessly conceded when little danger threatened enabled Douglas to complete his hat-trick from the spot. Two minutes later Enfield were further ahead through a freak goal as Borough 'keeper Tom How blasted his clearance against the back of the retreating Elliott Crosbie and the ball arrowed its way low into the corner of the unguarded net. Borough never looked likely to make a serious comeback and their main interest in the second half was to assess the quality of the several triallists included in the squad. |
