Game NotesNot a game we will look back on fondly. Kentish Town just about had the better of a fairly even first half in which their dangerous striker Karim Essiaghi had already shown his quality with some very near misses while we had produced nothing to put the visiting custodian to any serious test. In fact the best save of the half was by Borough’s Dan White as he somehow got a hand right up into the top corner to tip away a misplaced headed clearance from Patrick Billong which seemed sure to give the visitors the lead. But it took only 3 minutes of the second half before a slick move left Sarfraz Pavino with enough time to pick his spot and fire Town ahead. After that Borough briefly threatened although still without testing the keeper but midway through the half it was all over as Essiaghi found the net with a low drive in the 79th miniute after which Borough more or less fell apart with the back four often faced with a posse of enthusiastic raiders and Essiaghi made the game absolutely safe with a more spectacular third goal in the 86th minute. Even then Kentish Town were not content to sit back and powered forward repeatedly to net a fourth and final goal, albeit a somewhat scrappy affair as the ball “pinged” around in the goal area before falling conveniently for substitute Mark Doyle to force it home from a narrow angle.
