| Game Notes | BOROUGH had to endure a nervous 90 minutes against their mid-table visitors as although they took an early lead it was not until injury time that they netted again to make the game safe. Cheshunt almost scored in their first attack but a shot which looked goalbound was hooked clear by Roy Parkyn. It was Parkyn’s corner which led to the first goal as the Cheshunt ‘keeper advanced for it but failed to grasp it and the half clearance fell to Leon Rolle lurking just inside the penalty who sidefooted it precisely into the roof of the unguarded net. Borough enjoyed the majority of possession throughout the first half without being able to find a finish to test the athletic visiting ‘keeper Brian Sealey who fielded all crosses cleanly enough. Cheshunt defended doggedly but little was seen of them as an attacking force although when Patrick Billong just lost out in a race back after a long through ball the ensuing cross shot was dangerously close to the far post. There was little change inn the pattern of play after the interval but Borough were still unable to create any clear cut openings although substitute John Cole somehow managed to screw the ball just wide from very close range. During injury time Borough had to face two free kicks from dangerous positions but one went wide and ‘keeper Daniel White gatheresd the second and set Borough on their way with his clearance kick enabling the speedy Karl Lewis to win the chase and his lob over the advancing ‘keeper bounced into the roof of the net.
