Game Notes | BOROUGH moved up into third place with a comfortable win over Sun Postal Sports applying persistent pressure to the home rearguard right from the start. The lead was secured after 25 minutes when Ry Hardy raced clear down the middle and although his ferocious finish crashed against the post Jamaal Duncan was following up well and perfectly positioned to smash the loose ball into the roof of the net. Sun’s best chance came shortly before the interval when a striker in the clear tamely lifted his shot over the bar from some ten yards out and shortly afterwards Borough were unlucky not to double their lead when Hardy raced in from the left and sent a powerful cross shot against the foot of the far post and this time it rebounded to safety. But Borough did give themselves the comfort of a two goal cushion only five minutes into the second half when Melvin Thompson’s corner from the left was met beyond the far post by Andy Stokes who directed a precise header accurately back across goal and into the top corner. Borough enjoyed the better of the second half and effectively sealed their win after 67 minutes when Thompson swung over another fine corner from the left and Ian Maitland powered his way through the pack to force it home from a central position. Borough relaxed somewhat and the closing stages of the game became rather untidy. Sun Postal threatened briefly forcing one fine save from Daniel White as he flung himself to his right to grab a low shot at the foot of the post. But there never looked to be any serious doubt about the final outcome
