| Game Notes | Borough started brightly against their table footing visitors and the outcome might have been different if Daniel Ailey's fierce cross shot after a long powerful run had not crashed against the bar. Although Borough enjoyed a lot of possession in the first half hour they fashioned no gilt edged opportunities and the Harpenden 'keeper was not severely tested. Little had been seen of Harpenden as an attacking force until their first shot on goal in the 28th minute from the penalty spot following an unnecessary and not particulasrly forceful nudge. Chris Gregory's hard low shot into his right hand corner gave Edison Brahimi no chance. Borough failed to raise their game and after the interval it was Harpenden who siezed the initiative although again things may have turned out differently had Ailey's lob from the edge of the penalty area over the advancing keeper when he was clean through not bounced inches wide of the empty net. After that Borough fashioned few worth while chances and Harpenden grew in confidence as they sensed the opportunity to record their first league win of the season. They took a 70th minute lead when Richard Taaffe volleyed a powerful cross shot accurately into the corner with Brahimi again helpless. A Borough comeback never really looked likely as Harpenden found plenty of space to exploit in Borough's danger area and all hope of a late renaissance was extinguished in the 85th minute when Taaffe again found space to smash in a fierce shot from close range which Brahimi touched but could not quite hold on to. Not only did they miss the opprtunity to re-claim top spot with leaders Hoddesdon Town engaged in Cup action but they are now only joint 2nd with Brache Sparta on account of the damage to their goal difference although they do have a game in hand on Brache Sparta whose goals for, against and points are identical to Borough's Borough Squad:- Edison Brahimi, Guy Djedje,
