| Game Notes | A very patched up Borough squad including players unwell, carrying slight injuries from the start or returning after forced injury lay-offs did enough to bring back the spoils from the Cricklefield Stadium. It was a game with few if any individual incidents of note and although Ilford enjoyed more possession than Borough and forced many corners it was not until the closing minutes that Ashley Harris in the Borough goal was severely tested when he successfully beat away a close range effort created by one of the many set-pieces. Earlier collecting a succession of high crosses had gave him little trouble. Borough created few chances of their own but in the 34th minute they took the lead, perhaps somewhat against the run of play, when an Ilford corner was repelled and a swift break ended with Tyrone Cazaubon bundling home his first goal for the club as he met a low cross from the right at the far post. Two minutes later Dean Fenton accurately flicked the ball over the advancing ‘keeper from the edge of the penalty box and it bounced up into the roof of the unguarded net. In the second half Borough managed only one effort on goal when Lamarl Brown sent a fierce shot inches over as a cross from the left reached him a few yards to the right of the goal on the six yard line. The Borough defence comfortably nullified Ilford’s persistent approaches and allowed them only the one real chance late on which Harris dealt with.
