Game NotesHaringey had to settle for a single point after an eventful match that saw two penalties, a sending off and a replacement referee. Both teams led the match at points and although a spare of the spoils seemed to be a fair result, Borough spurned various chances at the end to win it - despite going down to ten men 20 minutes before the end of the match.

The match was played in challenging conditions with the wet pitch making heavy work for the players, resulting in many of the late tackles that shaped the game, as well as holding up the ball and making passing the ball along the deck difficult.

Haringey had the best chance early on when a ball into the box fell to Stephen Obeng, but he couldn't quite get a shot off and the ball was knocked out of play. The resulting corner somehow made its way through almost the entire box without anyone getting a touch on it until it reached Dewanye Clarke, but his shot was blocked at the near post and went off for another corner.

A few minutes later Tring had a chance when a troublesome ball around the edge of the area caused Stewart King and Erbil Bozkurt in the Haringey goal to collide in the area, but the referee allowed play to continue and the ball trickled harmlessly wide.

On the 24th minute Haringey had a penalty appeal turned down when a Tring defender appeared to climb over Dewanye Clarke, sending them both to the floor. But, the referee disappointed Borough by awarding a free kick in favour of the defender.

A couple of minutes later however he pointed to the spot after Roland Namquita, receiving a long ball on the left wing, was felled as he entered the area. Joe O'Ceaurill stepped up to take the kick as Namquita received treatment for the foul, and drove a strong penalty past Adam Robinson into the roof of the net.

Borough's lead was shortlived as a loose ball around the area was quickly picked up King who sprinted towards goal. He seemed to have taken it too far wide but he went over as Bozkurt came out to meet him and the referee awarded another spot kick after the linesman flagged for a foul. King stepped up to take the penalty he had won and cooly found the bottom left corner of the goal.

Tring took encouragement from the equaliser and pushed on towards the end of the half getting a good chance from a free kick on the right hand side of the area not long after the goal. The free kick was delivered with pace but a spectacular diving header somehow sent the ball out of the area rather than towards goal.

Haringey applied pressure, forcing a few corners towards the end of the half, but it was Tring who went into the break happier after scoring in the last minutes of the half. After receiving the ball on the left wing in a fast break, King was too fast for Rickelle Christian and left Bozkurt with no chance with a powerful shot inside his near post.

Borough started the second half brightly with Clarke almost catching Tring off guard with a clever flick on from a long ball into the box from Obeng. Only an acrobatic clearance off the line from a Tring defender kept it out of the net and another defender was needed to completely remove the danger.
Soon after this the referee pulled up with a calf strain and the match was delayed for 10 minutes while the officials were reorganised.

The interval didn't break Borough's rhythm and a few minutes later they were back level. The ball was played out to Dewanye Clarke on the right hand side who did well to make himself space and deliver an excellent cross that was easy for Namquita to tuck home.

However, Tring still offered a threat and Haringey survived a scare when an awkward ball into the box avoided both Borough centre backs, but also bounced over the head of a well placed King.

Haringey were reduced to ten men on the 83rd minute when a seemingly innocuous incident led to Obeng receiving a red card. After taking down a Tring player the referee went to give Obeng a yellow card which was then extended to a red, much to the surprise of the Borough players, after words were exchanged.

Despite losing a player Borough seemed to take motivation from the dismissal and looked the more dangerous team in the extended stoppage time thanks to the earlier injury to the referee.

Namquita was twice set free with decent balls down the left wing, and after outpacing the defender and running through on goal both times, he was foiled first by a good stop by the Tring 'keeper and secondly by a wild shot that went well wide.

But in the end both teams had to settle for a share of the spoils after an action packed afternoon at Coles Park.
