Game NotesHaringey won the battle of the Boroughs and earned a third round tie against local rivals Haringey and Waltham Development after coming through a dramatic 4-3 match that saw the lead change hand twice before the 81st minute winner averted a penalty shootout.

Haringey started the strongest and seemed to dominate the play but did very little to create chances in the early stages. In fact the best of the early chances went to Lewisham when in the 10th minute the ball made its way through to Jamar Doddson who got in a quick shot but Erbil Bozkurt made a smart save down to his left.

But on the 15th minute Haringey made their earlier good play count when, after losing the ball on an attack down the left wing, Roland Namquita chased the ball and won it back on the left hand edge of the area. After winning it back he then took it past one defender and then found the bottom right hand corner of the goal with a low curling shot.

Six minutes later Haringey doubled the lead when Stephen Obeng received the ball just outside the area and left the keeper stranded with a looping shot that fell into the far end of the goal.

Soon after, Haringey had the ball in the back of the net for a third time but it was adjudged offside. Even so it looked like the rest of the game would be a formality as Haringey took control of the game but in actual fact it would be far from simple.

Rather against the run of play Lewisham were able to get forward and Tristan Toney was given too much space on the edge of the area. He shaped to shoot for the far corner and neither the onrushing defender or diving 'keeper could keep the shot out of the goal, giving Lewisham a route back into the game.

Straight after the goal Lewisham began to play with more purpose and get forward as Haringey's grip on the game loosened and just three minutes later they were level. A high cross into the area was missed by Cedric Lakole and Leigh Wise was able to take full advantage and lash the ball past Erbil Bozkurt's near post.

Wise was given another chance a few minutes later when he was left unmarked on the right hand side of the area. But this time he shot wide of the far post and the teams went into half time level.

Lewisham started the second half well and continued to threaten. Eight minutes after the break they played a ball over the top to Tim Beckford who raced clear of his defender and left himself one on one with Bozkurt before neatly chipping over the Haringey 'keeper to give Lewisham the lead.

Despite the reversal Haringey still struggled to get into the game and Lewisham looked the stronger and more likely to score until Haringey made a double change, bringing on Rickelle Christian and Joe O'Cearuill following the halftime introduction of Dean Fenton.

Once the substitutes had settled into the game Haringey started to play their way back into the game. On the 77th minute Richard Worrell equalled things up when he found himself with space on the left hand side of the area. He fired in a strong shot inside the near post and left the Lewisham goalkeeper no chance.

Haringey were now on the front foot and regained the lead in the 81st minute. Fenton did well down the right and delivered a great cross into the area and Namquita was on hand to head the ball in at the far post to claim his second of the match.

Once back ahead Haringey attempted to play out the remaining time by taking the ball into the corners and while it was a nervy end to the match they held on to secure passage to the next round.
