Game Notes	With so many of the two teams players and Management being well known to each other a competitive match was always in prospect and such duly ensued. New Salamis took an early lead when a corner appeared to have been safely shepherded well wide only for Justin Zachariou to smash it back across goal from a very tight angle and into the far top corner in a strike which brought to mind the never to be forgotten effort of van Basten; it may be that Coles Park will not see a better finish all season ! Borough equalised when Mario Georgiou chased a long ball which bounced high on the hard pitch giving him the opportunity to dink a header over the advancing ‘keeper from just inside the area. But from another corner which was not decisively dealt with the visitors restored their lead when Chris Xiouri put an end to the scramble by driving the ball low into the corner. Borough responded strongly and Fabio Durimel and Finbarr Robins had a number of half chances which they could not quite put away but in the closing seconds of the first half a sustained period of pressure enabled 16 year old Robins to slot home his first goal for the Club’s Senior team. Borough enjoyed the majority of possession in the second half with Richard Worrell, Daniel Ailey and Nick Nicou all going close but Borough were made to pay for their wasteful finishing in the last minute when a quick break down the left enabled Dimitri Liotatis to cut in from the left and send a swerving cross shot low and just inside the far post.
